Panel Speakers will be:

Pete Smith, Professor of Soils & Global Change, University of Aberdeen.

“Farming & Fisheries & Forestry – the role of the food system and land use in addressing climate change”.

The food system accounts of around a third of all greenhouse gas emissions. A transformation of the food system, what we eat and how we farm and fish is required to address global nutrition security and climate change. I highlight the opportunities and limits to this global transition.

Kara Brydson, Fisheries Innovation Scotland, Executive Director.

" Making change on the water – how innovation in fishing can help Scotland fight the climate emergency."

FIS believes that innovation is the key to greater prosperity and sustainability in Scottish seafood. Executive Director Kara Brydson will talk about the partnerships taking practical steps to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint.
