Model United Nations (MUN) started in the United States over ninety years ago. It began as a Model League of Nations conducted by a group of Ivy League students in the 1920s (Phillips & Muldoon, 1996). Significant growth of MUN activities occurred after the establishment of the United Nations (UN) in 1945. Currently conducted in more than 30 countries, MUN is a global phenomenon delivered to participants from almost all levels of teaching and learning, from primary and secondary schools to undergraduate and postgraduate university settings (Obendorf & Randerson, 2013).
