October 24th, 2021 marks the 76th anniversary of the UN Charter entering into force. The United Nations was formed on the basis of global peace and equality for all nations. This month, the UN passed a resolution declaring that access to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment is a universal human right.
At UN House Scotland, our teams are hard at work. Throughout October, our Paris to COP 26 team ran a series of events engaging with leaders and individuals from all sectors to focus on contributing to the achievement of the Paris Climate Agreement.
The Climate and Gender team have been busier than ever, creating a wonderful podcast series which centres the voices of women in the fight for climate justice. Be sure to check this out here. Our new Local Sustainable Development Review team has been hard at work collecting data from around Scotland so that we can better understand the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals in local authorities.
As we mark this UN Day, be sure to check out the work of all our teams on the UNHS website where you can also sign up for our seasonal newsletter. For more regular updates, be sure to find us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
