About The Event

The "Spaceport" Case is the second in a series of Green Court debates organized by UN House Scotland. Our mission is to create a forum for debate in which ideas can be articulated and tested through simulation, whereas formal procedures may prevent these ideas from being discussed. The "Spaceport" Case tackles the environmental controversies surrounding the construction of a rocket-launch facility in North Uist, an island in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

Will space exploration and innovation prevail over climate concerns and environmental conservation? Join us in an academic discussion of the conflicts between environmental protection and economic development.
